town of Cashel is great for eating out by day and night. Good pub
grub is available all day and there are many award winning restaurants
to eat out in at night if your tastes run to the finer things. There

Walking
Established
long distance marked walkways include (amoungst many others):
The Tipperary Heritage Way - takes in forest, country roads
and the River Suir with a large number of historial sites en route.

Slievenamon / Kilcash - A series of 4 scenic routes, mapped

The East Munster Way - This links Carrick-on-Suir with the
Vee
Saint Declan's Way - An ancient Pilgrims trackway, signposted.
Galtee Mountains - both high and low level guided tours avalaible,
call Jimmy Barry on 062-33878 after 6pm.
Angling
The
River Suir is a noted trout river, with good salmon runs. Trout
season opens on the 1st of February and salmon season on 17th March.
Both close at the end of September. Permits are available from local
tackle dealers.
Bird
Watching & Wildlfe
The
area abounds with good sites, including Cappamurra Bog, Dundrum,
Clonmel Wilderness Gorge, the Galtee Mountains, Glengarra Wood,
Marl Bog, Gortdrum lake and Marfield lake near Clonmel.
Golf
A
wide variety of excellent courses are open to the public. These
include the challenging course at Dundrum (062-71116), Ballykisteen

(052-32213) and Lisonagh (062-51119)
